Facts About Eid-ul- Fitr



As we know, Eid ul-Fitr is a big day for all moslems around the world. They also called as a 'Victory Day' after 30 days fasting in Ramadan.

  • Eid ul-Fitr is end of Ramadan.
  • Eid ul-Fitr follows the blessed month of Ramadan and falls in the first 3 days in the month of Syawal, the 10th month in the Islamic calendar.
  • It begins with the sighting of the new moon.
  • Fasting is forbidden on this day.
  • There is special Eid prayer in the morning.
  • Prior to the start of the prayer, every muslim must pay zakatul-fitr an alms for the month of Ramadan. This money charity goes to the local needy people so that they can make Eid purchases.
  • Eid ul-fitr is one of two holidays in Islam, the other being Eid ul-adha which comes in the 12th month.
  • It is a day of celebration to mark the end of a whole month of fasting.
